The Fourth Alberti Piano Competition 2019

The Fourth Alberti Piano Competition will be conducted in Shanghai, China, June 14-17, 2019. It sponsored by Tongji University of Shanghai, (China) and the Golden Key Music Festival, Inc. (USA).

Named after Domenico Alberti, the Italian composer and father of the Alberti bass, the Alberti Piano Competition has drawn competitive young piano virtuosos from all over the world since its creation in 2007.

Age Categories

 

The competition is open to pianists of any nationality from 3 through 26 years old in eight age groups.*

 

Group A: age 3 – 6 years old

Group B: age 7 – 8 years old

Group C: age 9 – 10 years old

Group D: age 11 -12 years old

Group E: age 13 – 14 years old

Group F: age 15 – 16 years old

Group G: age 17 – 18 years old

Group H: age 19 – 26 years old

Judging and Prizes

 

Each contestant will perform two pieces according to the repertoire required for that age group. Winners will be selected by an international panel of judges.

 

First, Second and Third level winners will be honored with a Diploma in the First, Second or Third Degree and a corresponding Medal or Trophy. Top level winners in all age groups will be invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, (New York, USA) during the United States Golden Key Festival in April-June 2020. But winners in age groups F, G, and H will also be eligible to receive cash prizes. The amount of the cash prizes will be determined in March 2020.

 

Fourth, Fifth and Six level winners will receive a corresponding Diploma and Medal or Trophy. Competitors who do not reach a winning level will receive a Certificate of Participation and a commemorative souvenir from the Competition Organizing Committee.

 

The teachers of all winners will be awarded Certificates of Excellence.

 

Special Prize

 

Domenico Alberti Prize – $500.00 and a special Diploma will be awarded to the best performer of Alberti’s composition. This Prize is established by the American Concert Alliance, Inc.

 

The Organizing Committee welcomes the creation of additional Special Prizes with the help of individual or Corporate sponsors.

 

Note

 

Winners of Diplomas in the First, Second, and Third degree as well as the Alberti Prize must participate in at least one of the Competition’s Gala Concerts on a non-honorarium basis in order to receive their awards and honors. The concerts will be held on June 16, 2019. Other awards will be granted to the winners on the day of the competition.
